For the Patriots, the co-pitcher of the year, Adam Blakey (Jamestown, KY) threw for 7.2 innings, giving up four runs (three earned), nine hits, seven strikeouts, and one walk. Dylan Holt (Lawrenceburg, KY) went two for four with two singles and an RBI. Crossing the plate for the Patriots were Andrew Denton (Hendersonville, TN) and Javi Gali (Corozal, PR).

Campbellsville University defeated WVU Tech in the second game of the 2008 MSC Baseball Tournament 4-1 to advance to the second round of the winner's bracket. Campbellsville will now face Georgetown College at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) night.
The Tigers used a solo homerun by Hector Urbaneja to take an early 1-0 lead after one inning. They would tack three more runs on in the second to take control of the game, and Tiger starter Jeff Duda did the rest. The senior righty struck out twelve while allowing only two hits (both by Gabby Santiago) in earning the complete-game win.
Lee Darracott and Urbaneja each ended the day with two hits, while Urbaneja accumulated three RBI's. The Tigers were able to rough up Tech starter Donovan Reeves, who allowed four runs on six hits in five innings.
The Golden Bears will take on Pikeville College at 2:30 p.m.

Georgetown College advanced to the second round of the winners bracket today with a 3-0 shutout of Lindsey Wilson College today in the MSC Baseball Tournament.

Lindsey Wilson, who was held to four hits by winning Tiger pitcher Kevin Rueff (four hits, three strikeouts), had one hit each from Alex Arango, Nathan Bray, Daniel Eck and Daniel Rector. Friday, April 25th - Day 2
Game 4 - Cumberlands vs. Lindsey Wilson
The University of the Cumberlands defeated Lindsey Wilson College 10-1 in the first game of the day. The Patriots jumped out to a 4-0 lead before the Blue Raiders would score in the bottom of the third to cut the lead to 4-1. However, the Patriots were able to keep Lindsey off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game while scoring six more of their own to secure the win.
Trevor Urbanick went 3-5 for the Patriots, who recorded 13 total hits in the game. Luis Rafan and Dylan Holt each went 2-4, while Holt added two RBI's. Tyler Lee and Adam Blanton combined to hold Lindsey Wilson to six hits in nine innings, each by a different Blue Raider. Lee, who struck out seven over six innings, earned the victory.
Daniel Eck recorded Lindsey's only RBI on the day. Lindsey's Luis Parra was tagged with the loss.
Lindsey Wilson ended the year at 21-32.
Game 5 - Pikeville vs. WVU Tech
After being held to only two hits the day before, WVU Tech erupted for 13 hits in an 11-2 victory over Pikeville College on day two of the 2008 Mid-South Conference Baseball Tournament.
Pikeville, coming off an upset of top-seeded University of the Cumberlands yesterday, was not able to get on the scoreboard until the fifth inning. Trailing 7-0, the Bears scored twice thanks to a couple of walk and two hit batsmen, and threatened to cut into the Tech lead even more. But Tech's Jeff Krauklis was able to get the Pikeville batter to fly out to center with two down and the bases loaded to end the threat, and the Golden Bears would score three more times in the bottom of the inning to put the game out of reach.
Tech was led by Phil Brockman's 3-4 and 2 RBI performance. Danny Flores also finished 3-4 for the Golden Bears, who avoided elimination today with the victory. Six different batter had a hit for Pikeville, who still remain alive in the double-elimination tournament. Victory Zayas earned the win for the Golden Bears, while Matt DeBlauw was tagged with the loss.
Game 6 - Georgetown vs. Campbellsville
Georgetown College survived a 16 inning contest with an 8-6 win over Campbellsville University in the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Friday and advances to Saturday's round as the only undefeated team left in the double-elimination championship.
Campbellsville struck first with a run in the bottom of the second on a Jason Beale single that scored Lee Darracott, who reached on a double. Georgetown found an offensive groove in the fifth inning, scoring five runs on singles by Austin Sparks, Jake Mahan, Colin Wilkerson, Bryan Bonner, Jason Frilling and a Josh Franklin double to take the lead for the first time in the game.
Campbellsville scored one in the bottom of the seventh, followed by a three-run eighth inning to tie it up at five and then the marathon began. The teams both scored a run in the tenth inning and continued scoreless until the top of the 16th when Georgetown's Chase Armstrong singled to centerfield and was then moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Mahan before a Bonner double scored Armstrong. The junior catcher, Frilling, then singled to leftfield to score Bonner and put the pressure on Campbellsville.
Campbellsville out hit Georgetown 20 to 14 on the night. Georgetown's Carson Jones got the win as the reliever, pitching three innings, while Brian Edelen took the loss, pitching the last four innings.
Ironically, should Campbellsville get past Pikeville College in Saturday's 11:00 a.m. matchup, the Tigers would face Georgetown in the 6:00 p.m. nightcap with the winner advancing to the finals of the tournament to be played at the winner's home field later in the week.
Saturday, April 26th - Day 3
Game 7 - WVU Tech vs. Cumberlands
After West Virginia Tech's win over Pikeville on Friday, they faced the University of the Cumberlands on Saturday, April 26th for the second game of the day. WVT scored one in the top of the first inning to start off the game, but the Cumberlands battled back in the bottom of the first with four runs of their own. The Golden Bears scored three in the top of the second to tie up the score again at 4-4, but the Patriots went up by one by the bottom of the second inning. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Patriots added three more insurance runs to finalize the game at 8-4.
WVT's starting pitcher, Richard Kestner (Ripley, WV) went for four innings and allowed six hits and seven earned runs. Manny Zeno (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) went three for five to lead the Golden Bears, while six other Tech players got a hit as well.
For the Patriots, Brandon Williams (Ashland, KY) threw a complete eight inning game, giving up nine hits and four earned runs. He walked two batters and struck out five in his 33 batters faced. While only one homerun had been hit the whole MSC Tournament, Robert Mills (Las Vegas, NV) and Luis Raffan (Miami, FL) each had one of their own on the day. Dylan Holt (Lawrenceburg, KY) led the Patriots going three for five today, while Andrew Denton (Hendersonville, TN) and Robert Mills both went two for four on the day.
Game 8 - Georgetown vs. Campbellsville
Campbellsville came out firing in the first inning, when senior Temple Macdonald hit a three-run homer to take and keep the lead in the Tigers' 6-2 win over Georgetown in the Mid-South Conference Baseball Tournament on Saturday.
The game was a rematch of yesterday's marathon that took 16 innings before Georgetown emerged with an 8-6 win but Saturday was different. Campbellsville's homerun parade continued with Jason Beale's solo homerun in the seventh and two-run homer in the ninth.
Georgetown sent in reliever Kyle Lucal to help starter Steven Mavroles in the seventh inning and committed no errors on the night but couldn't stop the offensive run of their conference rival.
Campbellsville's Marc Wilson got the win after facing 18 batters and giving up five of Georgetown's seven hits on the night. However, Georgetown left seven runners on base and couldn't capitalize when needed.
Campbellsville now will wait to see who will become the other half of the MSC Championship game to be played on Thursday, as Georgetown will now face Cumberlands in the double-elimination tournament.
