The NAIA has released its second ever NAIA Football Top 25 Spring Coaches' Poll, and the Mid-South Conference has four teams listed. Bethel College (Tenn. - 5th), UVA-Wise (13), the University of the Cumberlands (16th) and Georgetown College (23rd) can all be found amoung the nation's best, while a fifth team, Shorter College (Ga.), received votes.

Bethel and the Cumberlands both advanced to the NAIA National Playoffs last season. The Cumberlands lost in the first round to Ohio Dominican while Bethel advanced to the Quarterfinals before falling to St. Francis (Ind.).

Shorter College was recently named the host of the 2008 and 2009 NAIA Football National Championships. The 53rd Annual NAIA Football National Championship will be played on December 20, while the 2009 event will be on December 19. Both championship titles will be played at Barron Stadium, home to the Shorter College Hawks.
