GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- No. 3 Lindsey Wilson women's tennis claimed its 10th-straight Mid-South Conference Tennis Tournament Championship with a 5-0 win over No. 21 Campbellsville (Ky.) University on Saturday at Lackey Tennis Center in Georgetown.
Lindsey Wilson (15-4) used a dominant performance to defeat Campbellsville, surrendering just five games in five matches on the day. Alejandra Galvis and Jessica King secured the first point for Lindsey Wilson, defeating Megan Charity and Gleidys Salazar 8-0 at the No. 2 doubles position.
In the No. 1 doubles competition, Sarah Bernos and Anna Gaprindashvili improve to 7-0 on the season as they defeated the 20th-ranked doubles team of Anna Tumanyan and Haley Dallas 8-1.
In the final doubles match of the day, Alicia Rodriguez and Anna Helena Pinto gave the Blue Raiders a 3-0 lead with an 8-1 win over Jenna Sallee and Lindy Charity.
It took the Blue Raiders just two singles matches to claim the tournament title as Pinto defeated Dallas 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles. In the final match of the day, Gaprindashvili secured Lindsey Wilson's 10th tournament championship with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Lindy Charity.
With the tournament win the Blue Raiders secured an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships.
Lindsey Wilson concludes the MSC season with an undefeated 79-0 record in singles and doubles matches in regular season and tournament play.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the court on May 13 when they travel to Mobile, Ala., for the NAIA Women's Tennis National Championships.
