Two MSC teams will tip-off in tonight's National Semifinals.

Some say the Mid-South Conference is one of the best in the nation, and tonight's NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship Semifinals is further proof as the Mid-South represents half of the competing teams. Both Georgetown College and Campbellsville University have made it to the NAIA's Fab Four and will look to win and advance to the Championship Game tomorrow night.

At the top of their game

The Mid-South Conference sent three teams to the National Tournament as Georgetown and Campbellsville were joined by the University of the Cumberlands in Kansas City. All three squads won their first round games, giving the MSC a solid presence in round two. While Both Tiger teams won their second round games, the Patriots fell to a very tough Lee University team 84-72. But Georgetown and Cambpellsville came back with victories in their respective quarterfinal games, and now both will play tonight for the chance to make the Championship Game an all-MSC affair.

A Chance at Perfection

Georgetown College enters their 7:30 p.m. (EST) semifinal game with Mountain State University (WV) as one of only three undefeated teams in the country at any level. The Tigers are 35-0 and are hoping to become the first team in 16 years to win the National Championship with an unblemished record (Oklahoma City did it in 1992). Coach Happy Osborne's squad is led by MSC Player of the Year Gus Chase who is averaging 18.5 points per game. But the Tigers will attack the Cougars with a balance offense that has four other players averaging double-digits each night.

Not Your Typical Cinderalla

Campbellsville is the only unseeded team left in the tournament and will make their first appearance in the NAIA national semi's. The Tigers, who earned an at-large bid to the tournament after finishing third in the MSC, will face Oklahoma City, the defending national champions who haven't lost a national tournament game since the 2006 national championship. But while many would see tonight's 9:45 p.m. (EST) game as a daunting task for Campbellsville, you would only have to go back four months to see why these Tigers will take the court with confidence. Last November, Campbellsville defeated the Stars in convincing fashion 76-57, and will be well-prepared for tonight's tip-off.

Is there any doubt?

Year in and year out, the Mid-South Conference produces teams that compete and win at the national level. Tonight's Men's Basketball National Semifinals shows yet again why the Mid-South is considered the "best of the best" and that the MSC is truly "where only the best compete."
