COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) junior quarterback Branden Cresap, Cumberlands (Ky.) senior running back D'Angelo Jordan and Georgetown (Ky.) senior linebacker Brock Messina are the Mid-South Conference East Division Players of the Year, conference officials announced on Wednesday.

Cresap and Jordan share the East Offensive Player of the Year honor while Messina is the East Defensive Player of the Year.

The individual awards and the all-conference team are selected by a vote of the division's coaches.

Three other individual awards were announced Wednesday as Cumberlands quarterback Adam Craig was selected as the East Offensive Freshman of the Year and Lindsey Wilson defensive back Avery Ford was the coaches' pick as the East Defensive Freshman of the Year honor.

Cumberlands coach John Bland is the Ron Finley East Division Coach of the Year as voted on by his peers.

Cresap led the East in passing (266.3 yards per game) and touchdown throws (31) in 2013. Nationally, Cresap is eighth in passing yards per game and 10th in total passing yards (2,663).

During the season, Cresap eclipsed 400 yards in a game twice and threw five touchdown passes in a game three times. He helped the No. 19-ranked Blue Raiders to an 8-3 record in 2013.

Jordan averaged 79.7 rushing yards per game -- third best in the East -- with nine rushing touchdowns. His 8.9 yards per carry led the conference

Jordan rushed for at least 100 yards in a game four times, including a season-high 143 yards in the regular-season finale at Bluefield (Va.). Jordan helped the No. 1-ranked Patriots to a perfect regular season, an East Division title and a trip to the Football Championship Series where they will host St. Ambrose (Iowa) this Saturday in Williamsburg.

Messina led the conference in five different defensive statistical categories this season including sacks (15.5) and tackles for a loss (24). His total sacks, sacks per game (1.6) and tackles for a loss per game (2.4) leads the NAIA.

Messina produced double-digit tackles in a game three times this season while amassing four multi-sack games during the regular season. Messina helped the Tigers to a 7-3 record in 2013 and a berth into the Football Championship Series. No. 13-ranked Georgetown travels Carroll (Mont.) on Saturday.

Craig averaged 177.9 yards of total offense -- which is fourth in the East -- for the Patriots. He threw nine touchdown passes while rushing for 16 more. Ford leads the East and is 15th in the NAIA with five interceptions for the Blue Raiders. Ford returned an interception for touchdown during the season -- his first career score.

Bland led the Patriots to the East Division regular season championship this season with a 6-0 divisional mark. His Patriots enter the playoffs with a 10-0 record and a No. 1 national ranking. The conference coach of the year award is his fifth. Bland is the only coach in Mid-South history to win both an East and West Division Coach of the Year award.

Thirty-one players earned first team all-conference honors and 28 were selected second team all-conference as voted on by the coaches. Ties for all-conference teams were not broken.
