COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Georgetown College's Aaron Stover and Shawnee State University's Thomas Carbonari are the Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The weekly honor is the first of the season for both. Carbonari earns his second career weekly honor after winning the award on Sept. 17, 2012.

Stover scored a pair of golden goals to help the Tigers to a 2-0 week to earn Mid-South Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

The Versailles, Ky., sophomore forward broke a scoreless drought with his fourth goal of the season in the second overtime for a 1-0 win over Ohio Christian University. Stover added his fifth goal of the season and third in four matches roughly 48 hours later as he scored in the 98th minute to lift the Tigers to a 2-1 win over Cumberland University.

Stover has amassed 10 points with his five goals this season.

Georgetown improves to 5-8-1 overall and 3-4 in the Mid-South with last week's wins.

Carbonari helped the Bears upset No. 22-ranked Campbellsville to earn Mid-South Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

The Sao Palo, Brazil, senior goalkeeper allowed one goal while collecting 11 saves in the Bears' 2-1 win over the Tigers. The win marked the first over a ranked opponent in the Shawnee State men's soccer history.

Carbonari ranks third in the Mid-South with 65 saves and sixth in the conference with a 2.41 goals against average.

Shawnee State improves to 5-8 overall and 2-5 in the Mid-South with last week's conference win.

The next MSC Player of the Week award is scheduled to be announced on Monday, Oct. 28.
