LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Georgetown (Ky.) is the preseason favorite to the win the Mid-South Conference volleyball regular season title in 2013, according to the MSC Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Thursday by conference officials.

The Tigers received 79 voting points, including seven of the 10 first-place votes in the poll. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

Georgetown captured the Mid-South Conference regular season title last season with a perfect 15-0 record. The Tigers advanced beyond pool play at the NAIA National Championships last season to finish 2012 with a 36-7 overall record.

Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is second in the poll with 75 voting points, including the final three first-place votes. Campbellsville (Ky.) is projected to finish third in the Mid-South after picking up 61 voting points from the conference coaches.

Shawnee State (Ohio) is fourth in the poll with 53 voting points followed by Rio Grande (Ohio) with 51 voting points and Cumberlands (Ky.) with 43 voting points.

St. Catharine (Ky.) is projected to end up in seventh after garnering 34 voting points followed by Bluefield (Va.) with 24 voting points. Cumberland (Tenn.) and Pikeville (Ky.) complete the poll with 20 and 10 voting points respectively.

The 2013 MSC volleyball season begins later this month and concludes with the conference tournament Nov. 15-16 at the MidAmerican Sports Center in Louisville.
