LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville's Emma Napier is the Mid-South Conference Softball Player of the Week and Shawnee State's Allie Chapman is the MSC Pitcher of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The weekly conference award is Napier's third of the season and of her career. She has earned the award last week and again on March 11. Chapman earns her first conference honor of the season and second of her career. She also picked up the pitching honor on April 23, 2012.

Napier produced another impressive week with a .538 batting average, a home run and four RBIs to earn the conference's player of the week honor.

The Scottsville, Ky., senior, shortstop helped the Tigers upset No. 13-ranked Lindsey Wilson to open the week with a pair of hits, including a home run in a 7-5 win. Napier added a 4-for-4 game with two RBIs in a 10-0 win over Cumberlands.

Napier added six runs and a .923 slugging percentage while helping the Tigers to a 3-1 week.

Napier leads the Mid-South in batting average (.505), hits (53) and total bases (103). She is second in the conference in slugging percentage (1.010), runs (35) and home runs (13).

Campbellsville -- who is receiving votes in the national poll -- moves to 23-9 overall and leads the Mid-South with a 13-1 record.

Chapman won three times last week, including a one-hit shutout and a win over a team receiving votes in the national poll to earn the conference's top weekly pitching honor.

The Chesapeake, Ohio, sophomore opened her week with a near perfect game in an 8-0 win over Rio Grande. Chapman ended up allowing a hit while striking out eight in the complete-game shutout.

After picking up a second win in a 3-2 victory over Pikeville, Chapman allowed three runs and eight hits in a 6-3 win over Davenport -- who is receiving votes in the NAIA poll.

Chapman finished the week with a 3-0 record and a 1.45 ERA. She fanned 15 while allowing 13 hits and two walks.

This season, Chapman ranks eighth in the Mid-South allowing the opposition a .236 batting average. She is 11th in the conference with a 2.69 ERA.

Shawnee State in 7-9 on the season and sits in fourth place in the MSC standings with a 5-3 conference record.

The next softball player and pitcher of the week awards will be announced on Monday, April 8.
