COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Everyone is Columbia, Ky., was already talking about Chase Spreen and the Lindsey Wilson College men's basketball team.
Now, thanks to ESPN SportsCenter, the rest of the world can join in on the Bedford, Ind., native's thrilling night.
Down by two points with exactly two seconds left in the game, fifth ranked Georgetown missed two free throws, allowing Spreen to haul in the rebound and sink a shot from three-quarters court to win the game.
The staff at ESPN's SportsCenter found the play exciting enough to rank it as the No. 2 play on the nightly top-10 countdown. Only San Francisco 49'ers quarterback Alex Smith's touchdown pass to Vernon Davis in the NFL Playoffs ranked higher.
Lindsey Wilson has won three straight games and is 5-1 in the Mid-South Conference, backing up why it has rocketed up the NAIA National Poll to No. 14. Georgetown, which suffered its first MSC loss of the season and is 15-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
