Senior mid-fielder Ryan Stewart of Lindsey Wilson College is the men’s soccer Region XI Player of the Year. The Mayaro, Trinidad native led the Blue Raiders to a 19-3 overall finish and the Mid-South regular season and tournament championships.
The Blue Raiders advanced to the NAIA National Tournament before falling to Auburn University-Montgomery (AL) in the national quarterfinals. Stewart scored 35 points in 2007, which included 15 goals and five assists for the talented Blue Raiders. He is joined on the All-Region Team by fellow teammates Tiyselani Shipalane, Nate Jafta, Boni Misiko and Glen Fox. Also named to the All-Region team from the MSC were Gino Ray, Joe Townsend, and Luis Souza from the University of the Cumberlands.
