LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Mid-South Conference released the 2011 MSC Women's Basketball Tournament bracket tonight following Saturday's regular season finales.
The conference tournament begins on Monday at host sites and continues Thursday through Sunday at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Ky.
Campbellsville University is the tournament's top seed after winning its third straight regular season title. The Lady Tigers finished the regular season with a 17-1 conference record.
Shawnee State University and Lindsey Wilson College tied for second in the MSC standings with 13-5 records. Shawnee State is the tournament's No. 2 seed thanks to a regular season win over Campbellsville. The Bears win over the Tigers gives Shawnee State the tiebreaker over Lindsey Wilson.
The 10-team tournament begins on Monday, Feb. 28 with a pair of opening round games.
No. 7-seed Pikeville College hosts No. 10-seed West Virginia University Tech and No. 8-seed St. Catharine College hosts No. 9-seed University of Virginia's College at Wise.
The winners of the opening games and the remaining six seeds advance to Frankfort on Thursday, March 3 for four quarterfinal games.
No. 4-seed University of the Cumberlands plays fifth-seeded University of Rio Grande at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday in the first quarterfinal game at the Frankfort Convention Center. In Thursday's second quarterfinal game, Campbellsville plays the winner of St. Catharine and UVa.-Wise at 4 p.m. ET.
Shawnee State faces the Pikeville-West Virginia Tech winner at 6 p.m. ET with No. 3-seed Lindsey Wilson and No. 6-seed Georgetown College in the nightcap scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
The tournament's semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, March 5 with the finals set for Sunday, March 6.
