LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Georgetown College's Brooke Terrell and Caitlin Williams are the Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Players of the Week for the week ending Sept. 5, the conference announced on Monday.
The weekly conference award is the first of the season and careers for Terrell and Williams.
Terrell, a sophomore goalkeeper, recorded four saves in her only game last week to earn MSC Defensive Player of the Week. The Danville, Ky., native, did not allow a goal in her 67 minutes of action in a 4-1 win over Cumberland (Tenn.) University.
Terrell leads the MSC with a 0.00 goals against average. She has yet to allow a goal in more than 100 minutes of action.
Williams recorded her first career hat-trick last week to earn MSC Offensive Player of the Week. The Murray, Ky., junior, scored three of the Tigers' four goals in last week's win. In addition to her first goals of the season, the three goals are the first of her career.
With her career-day, Williams vaults to the conference lead in points (7), goals per game (1.5) and tied for the league-lead in goals scored (3).
With the win last week, Georgetown improves to 2-0 on the season. The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 7, against Spalding (Ky.) University in Georgetown.
The next women's soccer players of the week are scheduled to be announced on Monday, Sept. 13.
