LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College is the preseason men's soccer favorite according in the Mid-South Conference, according to the MSC Coaches' Preseason poll released today by the conference.
Lindsey Wilson -- the defending MSC regular season and tournament champion -- received 64 voting points, including eight first-place votes. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.
University of Rio Grande is projected to finish second according to the poll after receiving 27 voting points, including the final first-place vote. University of the Cumberlands is predicted third with 50 voting points.
Campbellsville University, Georgetown College and West Virginia University Tech all tied for fourth in the balloting with 36 voting points. Conference newcomer Shawnee State University and St. Catharine College are tied for seventh in the preseason poll with 17 voting points.
Pikeville College -- who received 11 voting points -- completes the preseason poll.
The 2010 MSC men's soccer season begins later this month and concludes with the conference tournament beginning in early November at various sites. The tournament's semifinals and finals are scheduled for Nov. 11-12 at Rio Grande, Ohio.
