LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of the Cumberlands leads four Mid-South Conference teams receiving votes in the 2010 NAIA Football Coaches' Preseason Top-25 Poll, released by the NAIA on Monday.

Cumberlands is No. 11 in the first poll of the season after receiving 217 voting points from a panel of coaches representing each conference and independents.

The Patriots enter the 2010 campaign following a 9-2 record last season and a berth in the NAIA Football Championship Series. Cumberlands was also selected by the MSC coaches as the preseason favorite to win the West Division.

Georgetown College, Shorter University and Campbellsville University each sit outside the Top-25 poll after receiving votes from the national raters.

Georgetown -- the first team outside the Top-25 -- received 12 voting points while Shorter and Campbellsville received four and three voting points respectively.

The 2010 season kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 26 as Georgetown hosts Hanover College and Bethel University hosts No. 4-ranked Saint Xavier University. Six more games conclude the opening weekend on Saturday, Aug. 28, including a single conference game when Kentucky Christian University travels to Campbellsville for the first-ever night game at Finley Stadium.
