MARION, Ind. -- Shorter University led three Mid-South Conference teams that scored at the NAIA Women's Track & Field National Championships May 27-29 at Indiana Wesleyan University Outdoor Track Complex.

The Lady Hawks finished fourth out of the 65 teams that scored at the national championships. The MSC championships scored 51 points to finish 10 points behind national champion Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University.

Bethel University finished tied for 51st for two points while Lindsey Wilson College ended in a tie for 59th with one point.

Shorter's Justyna Mudy led the Lady Hawks with a pair of national titles in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and the 5,000-meter run.

Mudy and five of her teammates earned NAIA All-American honors during the three-day event. Mudy earned All-American honors for her finishes in 3,000-meter steeplechase and the 5,000-meter run, while Kennisha Holden (400-meter hurdles) Tamara Francis (long jump) and Dominique Woods (triple jump) earned All-American honors in their individual events.

Francis, Woods, Ashlie Stewartson and Brittany Sewell earned the national honor for their finish in the 4x100-meter relay.

Thirty-two MSC student-athletes competed at the national championships. Shorter produced the most qualifiers with 12 participants.
