CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University's Logan Smith hit a three-run walk-off home run to help the Tigers beat University of Rio Grande 6-3 in extra innings to force a decisive game in the MSC Tournament at Tiger Field.

Top-seeded Campbellsville and No. 2-seed Rio Grande plays for the conference tournament title later today at Tiger Field.

Smith extended the tournament to the decisive game with a blast in the bottom of the 10th inning. Rio Grande had entered the game without a loss in the double-elimination tournament.

Campbellsville designated hitter Alex Ponich led off the 10th with a walk and first baseman Brian Chase followed with a single two batters later to set up the Smith heroics. Smith hit a 3-2 pitch over the left field fence to send Campbellsville to the 6-3 win.

Campbellsville (40-19) jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the first inning.

Following a single by shortstop Michael Caleb, Chase blasted the ball over the left field fence to give Campbellsville the early lead.

Rio Grande (46-11) responded with two runs in the top of the third to tie the game a 2-2.

Rio second baseman Christian Frias led off the inning with a single and later scored on first baseman Francisco Ramirez's single to right field. Ramirez scored one batter later on third baseman Tyler Schunk's double to right field.

The Redstorm grabbed their first lead of the game one inning later on catcher Tyler Plumpton's RBI single. Rio Grande led 3-2 after four innings.

Campbellsville responded in the back-and-forth affair with a run in the fifth to tie the game at 3-3.

Caleb homered over the left field fence to tie in a game that needed extra frames to decide the winner.

Campbellsville pitcher Eric Mattos picked up the complete-game, 10-inning win. He allowed three runs while scattering 10 hits. He struck out nine Rio batters.
