CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Top-seeded Campbellsville University scored four times in the ninth inning to beat third-seeded Georgetown College 5-1 tonight in the MSC Tournament at Tiger Field.

Campbellsville (39-19) advances to Saturday's MSC Tournament finals against No. 2-seed University of Rio Grande. The Redstorm advanced into the finals earlier today with a 3-2 win over Campbellsville.

Campbellsville's Zac Townsend ignited the decisive ninth inning for CU.

With one out, Jameel Ziadeh and Colin Bryan reached base on back-to-back singles setting the table for Townsend. After the pair advanced into scoring position, Townsend laid down a suicide squeeze scoring Ziadeh. A wild throw by Georgetown starting pitcher Chase Ballinger over the first basemen's glove plated Bryan and sent Townsend to third base. Campbellsville led 3-0.

Alex Ponich's RBI single to right field scored Townsend to extend the Campbellsville lead to 4-0. Brian Chase's sacrifice fly two batters later scored the fourth Tiger run of the inning giving Campbellsville a 5-0 lead entering the bottom half of the ninth inning.

Georgetown's Tyler Fisher provided the only run of the night for GC. Fisher's lead-off home run -- his second homer in as many days -- in the ninth cut the Campbellsville lead to 5-1. But that's as close as Georgetown would get.

Following a little more than an hour lightening delay, Campbellsville reliever Alex Tolmachoff completed the ninth to send Campbellsville into the finals.

Campbellsville starter Rusty Devitt (4-2) allowed just one run on six hits in 8-plus innings of work to earn the win. Ballinger (6-4) allowed five runs -- three earned -- over 8-1/3 innings pitched.

Chase and Townsend each drove in a pair of runs for Campbellsville. Bryan added a 2-for-3 performance at the plate with two runs scored.

Georgetown ends its season with a 27-32 record.

Campbellsville faces Rio Grande at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday at Tiger Field in the MSC Tournament Finals, with a second championship game scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET if the Tigers can beat the Redstorm in tomorrow's opener.
